In the middle

And the week is going slow …  am waiting for the weekend.. as Rocks will be back and I will have someone to talk to besides the walls ,… he he he…

Running around with errands and stuff, did not enable me to spend some time with my birds and I was feeling sad..

Today I commit to go early and let them out and talk to them non stop and have them fly and whistle and run around as they like..

Sometimes, I wonder, how it would be if  I was so dependent to have someone let me out and take me out and have some fun.  I see this specially of the older generation who have come at a stage where they have to depend on their young ones to take them out or generally spend time with them. Its must be like living in a cage for them who once were the very epitome of independence and self sufficient individuals..

And when such a situation is there, it is very important to understand the responsibility of the younger generation who is so busy running after money and the next best job and really do not have that time to stop, think and work around the very mastheads which flagged us off. Its a continuous circle and its never too late to look back at the twilight zone which we inevitably will step into after sometime..

So well, when do you say : its enough and well I think I have enough..

What is enough for you ? Have you thought about it ?

We plan to retire early and we plan to do this and that but the next best opportunity always draws us in and we keep riding the tiger..

Well, this thought has sprung from the seed where I am thinking of saying its enough.. and leave it at that..

Now I dont want to think backwards.. but forwards… once its enough, how do we sustain ourselves materialistically and with the priorities that we have in our basket of life..

I dont know.. I am still thinking.. and maybe soon I hope to get an answer..

My dream right now : An open terrace cafe in a semi residential area where people can sip a cup of chai and snacks and have conversations.. some live music if needed by local folk musicians.. and some business from the local craft makers..  variety not in the food but in the events.. ( sigh)

Let me dream.. !!

Was very interested by the show that Discovery put up on Sufism. Did some reading on Rumi poems.. Really liked them.. Thought of sharing a little from there..

From Mystic Odes 473

The drum of the realization of the promise is beating,
we are sweeping the road to the sky. Your joy is here today, what remains for tomorrow?
The armies of the day have chased the army of the night,
Heaven and earth are filled with purity and light.
Oh! joy for he who has escaped from this world of perfumes and color!
For beyond these colors and these perfumes, these are other colors in the heart and the soul.
Oh! joy for this soul and this heart who have escaped
the earth of water and clay,
Although this water and this clay contain the hearth of the
philosophical stone.

Also wanted to share some monsoon shots captured from my balcony. I thought that the clouds were moving in a dance.

It was so fascinating sipping my tea and watching the oncoming of rain clouds.  It was as if the clouds rocked and rolled :)

Saturday was a lazy day when out of the blue a beautiful bird decided to perch on my balcony railing and spend some time looking down for predators. I thing it was a baby hawk. It looked majestic. I quietly clicked these shots from inside.

What is interesting is that Hawk is one of my animal totems and it is not a stranger to me.

24052009050Sunday, we spent walking down surprisingly almost empty Church Street and along old villas. It was past lunch time and we thought we would get some beer. And we came upon Coco Grove. Music was chiming and there were compact tables placed well. It was a comfortable atmosphere and since we just wanted to eat something light and have a cool beer, this seemed to be ideal. We ordered Chicken salami sandwich, Chicken wings fry and Beef Pepper Steak along with 2 mugs Shandy and 3 mugs normal beer (a pitcher would have been better). The bill came upto 600 plus.

I thought it was a good deal and the ambience was something of a typical lazy Sunday afternoon and well it suited the cloudy and partly sunny and humid weather too.  Its an ideal joint for couples just lazing around or friends and I even saw a family there. Well you got a mix there.  The food is good. I was always a fan of Coconut Grove and they have kept up the quality.

Point to be noted if you are ordering steaks. Prepare to sit down and have them take some time.  Since we did have some time it was ok but this is not a place if you are in a hurry to grab a bite. 24052009051

Ah ha !! I almost forgot : Since this is a Beer Joint, you can have beer from all parts of the world priced at 325/- and served in a winelike glass. :)

We decided to stick to apna Kingfisher. :)

I realized that I like open places like this. You could almost feel like you were in Goa. Hahaha !!

If you are browsing around in Blossoms for books, do try this place. This is just next to it.
