Well… an eventful weekend for me I must say…

ROCK ON !! Rocked… I am getting the DVD to add to my collection.. I loved Farhan… He is one talented human being.. Hope to see more of him onscreen and behind the screen…

I loved the songs, loved the simplistic script and very simple story telling… sometimes.. we need this..

Sometimes its not about great acting.. or great direction…sometimes a crazy mix just works and the theme of the movie just strikes a chord..will take a lot of us down memory lane.

Also it made me think of what dreams we have given up to grow into the adult that we were supposed to be ??

At the age of 20 / 22 we did really think that we could conquer anything..

It totally took me down nostalgia lane..
I have totally banged my head on this… too good.. Ok I am totally taken by the songs and the movie.. hahah !!

And who said that you cant look good wearing formals and singing rock songs… Totally Hot..

And this really gives me the goosebumps….

On a different note :

Bacardi gives me a hangover… I should stick to Vodka. My head is still feeling a little woozy but I am doing fine.. he he !!
I can survive on momos and momos only..
My Bolero’s battery went dead and well that too in the middle of Marathalli.. and it was at peak traffic time.. sigh.. totally embarassed then got used to everyone giving us ” The look” which said.. oh !! now we will see how you manage hahahah !!! but thanks to friends we did push start it… all you fast petrol cars.. know this.. diesel engine is much easier to push start.. buhahahah !!!! ( OK I am generally feeling euphoric because I did not have to keep standing in the middle of the heavy traffice hahah !! )
Distilled water is 3/- in a battery shop and 18/- in a petrol bunk.. :O

Why is it that we are choosing to become workaholics ?

Is it so difficult to balance homelife and work ?

Its becoming alarmingly the reason for physical burnout and family dissensions.

Where is the intelligent self which usually is good at adding 2 plus 2..

On Dark Knight

Well, I must say after the great feedback.. I really had some gala expectations.. but then well it really sucked..

I must say that the joker part was overdone.. it was like a modern day thriller flick..
The essence of Batman was diminished.. to certain extent.
It was wierd to see Batman talk in an abnormally husky way.. ( Rocky staunchly maintains that it is a part of his disguise. )
From my comic knowledge, Batman never loved Harvey Dent’s girlfriend.. Correct me if I am wrong..
Joker did not have his face cut up and went on and on about asking people and then telling his victims how his face got cut and all that crap.
He is a villain with immaculate make up of a Joker to enhance the character and a villanious mind used via humor.. what a combo.. !! Nothing of that sort came forward in the movie..
The costume underwent a change..

Also, after watching Batman Returns the other day, I was all the more certain they had done something horrible with the new movie.

The old movie had all the plot of making the movie watchable again and again.. it had everything. Even the costume was an original.. with the yellow belt and the logo.

Either I am old fashioned or I have to rethink my way of looking at comics made into movies..

I can understand manipulating a book.. where words could be interpreted and played upon the way the director sees fit. But a comic book is visuall.. how can one go wrong… ???

Well I should not be surprised.. If Sholay and DON were so badly remade… why not Batman… hahahah !!!

Indiana Jones…

Well… watched the movie and it all whooshed past my eyes.

Just do not think or compare to the early movies and you will enjoy it.

Have found THE painting I am going to paint for my new living room. That is going to set the tone of my new house..

My days are filled with planning this and that now.. and running between interior designers..

Its interesting to see how two creative minds can think of totally two different designs… which is normal..

Now the point is : which one is going to reflect our personality ??

Mercury being retrograde and that too in Gemini, all my communication is going for a toss.. whether we believe it or not..

Hahaha !! everything I say or do seems to come and ricochet in a very different manner than it was intended.

Solution : I have decided to just sit quiet and shut up.. and speak only when spoken to.. Sigh..

Enjoy the sound of silence..

A Sigh is all that it takes

When time flies past… a sigh is all that it takes… and to me it feels that time has flown without even giving me a chance to let it slide through my fingers…. sometimes… its nice to have the feeling of time slide through my fingers..

And here I am back with movies that I have watched.

Last Holiday

A lovely movie. I love Queen Latifa’s comedies. The whole movie would have been nothing without her presence.

I loved the movie. Its not excellent but then its better than the others that I watched during this period.

Thought it was pretty honest.. a little unrealistic but honest..

Liked the way the story weaved around…

Golden Compass

Liked the graphics and the voiceovers.. The ending left something to be desired. Also the story has some discontinuity..

Since everyone is revved up to build fantasy stories after Lord of the Rings, the essence of the stories are getting lost.

The movie started well and then went on well and then suddenly after a while it was like someone else took over direction and script…

Waiting for the sequel to come up.. but am not going to bite my nails for it..

Enchanted

A movie from which I had lot of expectations and well part of the movie.. really was cool but on the whole.. this was a shadow of other great disney movies.. it has everything, love, animation, comedy…

I was more impressed with seeing “Mc Dreamy” from Gray’s Anatomy… I go really drool drool drool..

Anyway, besides the drools, you could wait calmly for the DVD…

Comedy was decent.. not rib tickling if you know what I mean..

maybe if you could go with very minimum expectations, you will like it..

No Reservations

A likeable movie when you do not compare to other good romantic comedies.. I am a sucker for romantics and this movie was kind of light and pepped me up. It is a light romantic comedy about the life of a chef.

If you go into the technicality like the script and the overall story, it will be a bummer..

Unless you really do not mind watching anything, this will do.

I was on the flight and had choices between some wierd movies.. so compared to that this was a winner..

Verdict : A so so movie.. you can very well avoid it.. but when you really have nothing.. then you could go for it.

Shrek 3

They always come up with funny stories.. Shrek is cute… and all the characters maintain their characters even to this sequel.

But I must say that the first one was the best.

An entertaining film, which if you like animation will not mind watching.

Wish they would come up with something else other than Shrek…. its getting repetitive…

Its good for the collection though… Maybe the kids will like it.. then again the humor is very adult..

Ratatouille

An absolutely wonderful movie.. Fresh and a new story, I loved it.

The rat is absolutely cute. And the story will keep you entertained.

Again if you like animation, go for it. The kids will love it too.

And its about food… yummmm !!

Good comedy and good script… Go watch it.. if you already haven’t..

I think i enjoyed this the most..

Bourne Ultimatum

I cannot repeat enough about sequels.. Its a good closer to the series..

But its not like the first two movies. I think I should avoid sequels altogether.

I liked the fast pace as usual but the story was kind of confusing.. Action sequences was good.
Suddenly everyone is killing each other all for some secret shit.. which god only knows.. LOL

I was like… come on…. can it…!!! Unless you are an extreme fan of Matt, do not bother.

Hairspray

All I have to say is GAWK. John Travolta… GAWK GAWK GAWK.
