First and foremost, its cold, cold, cold………….
All my extremities are freezing… buhahahaha even with the layers of thermals and woolens..
But I do like it here, compared to last time maybe because I have a better hotel and I am exploring so many places on my own.
Sunday, went to this busy place, Fuzi Miao… and just spent hours and hours there.
Did I tell you that I lost my camera in Shenzhen ? Guess the little thing was not meant to be… so everything is via my iphone. Serves me right to get lost in the beauties of the shopping they called as “Women’s world” !!
I walked through Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Musuem. I think I like museums.
I had a silent conversation with history… and its battle of win and loss of war.
I had a beautiful time walking by the Zhan Yuan Garden... it was a surprise as I was exploring the museum to step into courtyard and a garden.
There is this beautiful place the pool you see above in the photo where some lovely koi fishes swim to you.. It reminded oddly about the Wards Lake in Shillong
Then there was the Confucius Temple which I had longed to visit last time but because of lantern festival we could not get in. This time, had my fill of the temple.. and had a nice time browsing through the local market making friends and bargaining for odds and ends.. all things Chinese..
As I went through the Confucius Temple, I heard this absolutely lovely music being played… and I was enraptured… the instrument was something like a guitar.. would not know the name but the music was awesome.. live music is always.. beautiful.. I was nervous to sit since I was the only one in that hall.. but when many sat down, I also did and enjoyed some music time.. I thought to myself.. what a bonus.. and it was bliss… these are the surprises I like when I travel.. When I am not looking for something and I get a chance to take part in something beautiful just by chance…
Chance is something which delights me..
I have this favorite glass art shop which I visit every time I am here, and this time, I did some customized glass art as per my choice.. which was very pretty since she did that in front of me.. and at the end of the day, gave me a good price too.. Next time, I will get some special craft I have my mind set on,…. told her so..
Bargaining has a universal language I think.. its an art… language does not factor.. I realised in Shenzhen and in Nanjing.. that the Chinese love a good bargain.. Well I enjoyed that part as well.. :)
Commercial business is thriving here.. people shop shop shop and eat and eat and shop.. dinner time is all festive since EVERYONE is eating.. hahaha I like that.. I love Chinese food too..
Also I think compared to Europe or US, I think besides India, this is the only place where one can have so much fun bargaining.. Have not been to the Middle East so would not know about that..
Its back to work now.. its been sunny today.. and though I smiled being grateful that there was no rain, I can still see some dark clouds.. outside my office window.. I sure hope it does not rain or snow while I am here.. :) Even if it does, well what the heck…
Am yet to try the Metro, the damn thing has so many gates.. its a maze for a directionally challenged person like me.. LOL.. still I will get this right.. if not this trip, maybe the next one.. I am now exploring the stations, sort of practicing which way to enter and get back.. since my dinner place is around here.. yeah.. inside the metro underpass, there is a huge shopping complex and eating complex… the govt here has done something clever, its earning well with the shopping as well… Wish we had something like that back home..
