What a drama !!

Usually I ignore Indian Politics.. but heck I was forced to watch this while parents were transfixed to the TV from morning on this and went on till evening until the PM won the vote..

I was apalled at the way the members behave..

Its like a shouting match as to whose decibels outdoes the other..

Breaking news. After this… it had Amar Singh screaming.. .Am I a prostitute to sleep for money .. ( in Hindi of course !! ) GAWK.. where did that come from.. ?? You are on TV ?? Was that a publicity stunt..
And before that to make his case safe.. he says that he was vomitting the whole morning.. and Mr Yadav was there with him.. Pathetic.. !! Hahah !! He looked healthy as a horse.. LOL.

He is protesting too much.. we saw.. also heard.. that ” If I had to play games, I would not play it with known people, Do you think I am a wet behind the ears” ( In Hindi) . So he does admit that he plays games..
Its like one by one, all the layers are being more and more visible..

It makes me feel I am watching an disorganized circus where all the players.. are playing their own game without any co-ordination..

I know its all rant but heck.. I love this country mine.. When I see this.. it saddens me as to how immature we still have the tendency to behave.. and make a spectacle of ourselves.. just to spite one another..

And one can say everything is fair in politics and war.. What crap.. !!!

And more power to the PM.. I dont like to take sides.. but I think I am glad for the PM.

And this one I love.. I had tweeted it… Laloo Zindabad.. You have to see this.. He has gumption.. He is one of the most honest dishonest politician … I love seeing his interviews.. :)

Plays in Bangalore

FELUDA PHEROT !
THE RETURN OF FELUDA
(A Play in Bengali)

Feluda (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feluda) aka Prodosh C. Mitter is the fictional detective created by Satyajit Ray, and is the protagonist of two of his fillms and thirty five novels and short stories. He is an iconic character in the world of Bengali literature and ‘Feluda Pherot’ marks the return of the much loved sleuth for its second ever stage adaptation.

It is the first ever non-canonical work based on a Ray created character either for the stage or for the screen. At one level, ‘Feluda Pherot’ is a gripping murder mystery with a twist in the tail. At another level, it is a philosophical classic deconstructing the alternative norms of good and evil, as personified by Feluda and his Moriarty-like arch rival, Maganlal Meghraj.

The form of the play also deviates at points from conventional proscenium - it has projected video clippings in a parallel narrative, elements of Third Theatre, suggestive rather than explicit sets, elements of the age-old Bengali folk tradition of ‘Jaatraa’ or ‘Paalaa Gaan’ retrofitted in the contemporary context, silhouetted use of choreographed Contemporary Dance Movements and a dedicated soundtrack.

This play also marks the collaboration between film personalilities from Kolkata and theatre workers from Bangalore.

ANTARYATRA

Directed and Performed by Usha Ganguli

Produced by Rangakarmee

Supported by Sobha Developers

July 30th, Ranga Shankara 7:30 pm

USHA GANGULI, a Sangeet Akademi awardee, leading the theatre group Rangakarmee for nearly twenty-five years now, remains essentially an actress who loves to take on challenging roles and seek to grow in the process. Trained as a dancer in the classical Indian modes, she strikes the delicate balance between formal rhythm and reality in the raw. Rangakarmee, which had its inception in January 1976, spearheads the Hindi theatre in Kolkata today, with fourteen productions on its live repertoire.

ANTARYATRA is designed and performed by Usha Ganguli herself. In the play, she attempts to explore the Indian woman’s psyche through a melange of characters. It takes us through a very personal and inner-driven journey in theatre. Ganguli has played a variety of women characters (Nora, Himmat Mai, Rudali, Kamla, Anima) on stage and her experiences obviously enrich her one-woman show. ANTARYATRA is a tribute to at least a dozen crucial female heroines played by Ganguli who are representatives of real-life women – each one belonging to a distinct social space and yet bound in some way by the virtue of being a woman.
