Reality Shows and more….

am down with some bug and on sick leave for a few days.

This gives me some opportunity to watch TV and surf channels.

And well on and on goes the trend in most of the channels.

Reality shows and more reality shows.. its tiring to watch people fighting for cash, artistes who have won already in shows coming back in cross over reality show which is no different than the past one.

Then we have some strategic points which seem very orchestrated to start snide interaction with the judges just to create some controversy..

Good lord.. wherever you look, the age of serials somehow is getting over.. in Indian channels.

I am forced to stick to my old time favorites like Discovery Travel and Living, Nat Geo, Discovery, but there too, they are showing reruns…. sigh…

Even Cartoon network is full of Japanese animation which is not very pleasing.

What happened to good TV ?

BUT there is one channel which has become my favorite. NDTV IMAGINE..

Now that is one channel which is really refreshing.

I love watching the 8:30 PM serials.

Some of which I am following are :

These stories somehow deal with concepts which are somehow closer to reality. Ek Packet.. is one of the first concept which is made on battered women.. which is very interesting…

Jasuben.. talks about joint family with some people lessons, tolerance and forgiveness and moving on..

I think media is a very powerful influence on the mass and it is good to see this effort to give back some tradition or some positive thinking.. sigh..

On a different note:

Having parents home when I am sick is such a peaceful feeling.. feels like old days where Dad makes sure I take my medicine..them just being there makes it more bearable..

Its so nice getting back in the comfort zone.. when its available.. I feel cocooned..

Else its miserable on my own.. I hate being sick anyways.. its boring..
